What is Genvice?
Genvice is an advisory insights platform for Australian bookkeepers and BAS agents. It connects to Xero (and soon QuickBooks Online), analyses each client file with deterministic calculations where every figure shows its workings, and drafts advisory-ready reports that you review and deliver under your own name.
Does Genvice meet the TPB's guidance on using AI?
Yes, by architecture, not just by policy. The Tax Practitioners Board's guidance on artificial intelligence and the Code of Professional Conduct (TPB(GS) 55/2026) expects registered agents to keep professional judgement in charge when using AI tools. Genvice is built exactly that way. First, every output is a draft for your review. Your judgement stays in the loop; there is no black-box agentic automation acting on your behalf. Second, all calculations run in deterministic, non-AI code before any language model is involved, so the model only narrates numbers already computed and traceable, which strips out calculation hallucination. Third, data is de-identified before anything is sent to a language model. Fourth, client data is stored and processed in Australia.
Does Genvice use my clients' data to train AI models?
No. Raw Xero and QuickBooks data is never used to train, fine-tune, or improve AI models. That is prohibited by the platforms' API terms and by Genvice's architecture. Raw data and derived work product are stored in physically separate zones, and the only call to a language model receives a de-identified, whitelist-constructed payload: ratios, counts and labels, never names, ABNs, dollar amounts, or free text from the ledger.
Where is my clients' data processed and stored?
In Australia. Compute, database storage, and backups run in Sydney region on Google Cloud, and your clients' financial data never leaves the country. Raw client files, identifiers, and source transactions stay in the Australian zone of a three-zone architecture. Genvice's AI analysis runs in stages. Raw accounting data is processed within our Australian infrastructure. Only a deliberately narrow, deterministically derived, and de-identified set of information is passed to the AI provider to generate report narratives. This zone of our three-zone architecture is enforced by a whitelist in our code, not merely by policy.
What access does Genvice request from Xero or QuickBooks?
Genvice requests read-only access to accounting data: reports, balances, and transaction history. It does not request any payroll scope. You can verify this on the Xero consent screen: the scopes listed there are exactly what Genvice requests, nothing more.
Will Genvice replace me?
No. Genvice is built to keep the bookkeeper in the advisory seat. Every report it produces is a draft: you review it, edit it, and deliver it under your own name. It handles the hours of analysis so you can charge for the advice. Your client relationship stays yours.
Can I trust the numbers?
Every number on a Genvice report is computed deterministically in code (never generated by a language model) and each one carries its calculation with it (for example, "gross profit ÷ total revenue × 100 = 98.44%"). If a figure looks wrong, you can check the workings line by line, the same way you'd review a workpaper.
Is this financial advice?
No. Genvice produces draft business-advisory work product based on accounting data, for review by a qualified bookkeeper. It is not financial product advice, tax advice, or a substitute for professional judgement, and it never goes to your client without you reviewing it first.
What if a client's books are messy?
Genvice layers on top of already-clean books. It doesn't fix messy data, because that's your existing job and expertise. Where data quality affects an analysis, the issue is flagged as a data-quality finding so you can address it with the client, rather than being silently absorbed into the numbers.
What does it cost?
During the pilot, nothing: Founding Practitioner Partners get 90 days of full access free, plus a permanent 50% discount on standard pricing when the pilot completes successfully. Standard pricing will be per practice, tiered by the size of your client base. Pricing will be published after the pilot. Founding partners keep their 50% discount off whatever those tiers become, for life.
Who is behind Genvice?
Genvice is built by Axel Tracy, a former BAS agent and former qualified accountant (AIPA) with over ten years of accounting experience, including running his own practice in Canberra. He built Genvice because he lived the problem: stuck in compliance work, wanting to sell higher-value advisory. Genvice is the trading name of Pacioli Bear Pty Ltd (ABN 39 642 692 475).
